Stay Hydrated On The Beach- Make The Most Out Of It

What could be more relaxing than spending a day at the beach? You got the sand, the water, and the sun, all to enjoy yourself. Well, if you want to get an even better experience, you need to be more prepared else your day may end sooner than you would like. Do you know what I mean? It’s about staying hydrated on the beach.

You could be having lots of fun and playing hard and sometimes you could forget to stay hydrated. Don’t be fooled by the thrilling playground provided by the water. Remember that water provides life to all living creatures, including you. The significance of drinking water when active cannot be underestimated when considering your health and well-being.

Most of your body is made of water with the lean body mass containing 70%-75% of water. Because the beach is a warm-weather location, you should consider drinking at least the minimum daily fluid. Depending on your activities at the beach, you might want to consider increasing your daily intake. If you are that very active person, it is recommended that you drink 10 liters or more of water to compensate for the fluid-loss in your body.

Do you need to purify?

Maybe you do. You never know if you might get an emergency that will need you to fill up water and maybe the source of water could be questionable. For such unforeseen cases, you should always carry iodine tablets. But before using it, you need to first know if you are allergic to it.

Another available option is the water filter. Commonly known as reverse osmosis, this technology is more than necessary and is recommended for daily trips. It has no allergic effect and besides it does not leave behind an aftertaste, unlike iodine or other chemicals.

Judging your state of hydration

If you like playing on the beach or engaging in vigorous activity, you should pay attention to how dehydrated you might be. One of the most successful ways to assess hydration status is an observation of the toilet. How often do you urinate and what is the color of urine? You do not have to hurry with the doctor, just watch. Dark yellow urine is an indication that you are dehydrated. When you become more and more dehydrated, you begin to urinate less and less, and the color darkens.

Why water is an effective treatment of dehydration

Every time you drink water, the water immediately goes to the intestines. From the intestines, water molecules are absorbed directly through the intestinal walls to your bloodstream. The immediate effect of this process is the hydration of your body.

Other than treating dehydration, additional benefits of drinking water are such as it maintains proper blood circulation, it boosts your brain power, lubricates your joints, and helps to maintain body temperature. Water is also known as a vital nutrient and a solvent for important biochemical reactions. It’s less known that water is helpful in controlling appetite. Before you take any meal next time, drink a glass of water and you’ll see your appetite reduced and so you’ll eat less.

It is always important to bring water with you when you are going outside. Do not forget to replenish your liquid levels at every chance you get while outside. Importantly, make sure that the water is pure so it’ll be safe for your health.
